Ways to Help

Financial Help

Hello families!

Since the Department of Education budget for PS 889 only goes so far, our PA provides critical financial support that ben
efits all students in all grades. This year, the PS 889 PA is hoping to spend on average more than $250 per student across our initiatives. Your direct donations support things like:

  • school-wide curriculum enrichment

  • grade level clubs like Photography, Cooking, Dance, and Musical Theater

  • field trips

  • filling our library with books and furniture

  • cultural visits and performances

  • and so much more!

We encourage you to give what you can: no gift is too small (or too large!). All donations are welcomed and appreciated, and they're 100% tax deductible. Please use this page to set up a monthly or a one-time donation. We also accept PayPal, and welcome cash or checks sent to school in your child's backpack. Just make sure it's clearly marked as a Parents Association donation.

Most companies offer a matching program that could double the impact of your donation! If your employer does offer this, the PS 889 PA is a registered 501c3 and can accept matching gifts!

With gratitude,
Your PA

All parents are welcome and encouraged to make their voice heard and participate in various ways, such as attending PA meetings and events, serving on PA committees, translating PA communications into other languages, or volunteering a few hours of time. No matter the contribution, it is valuable and appreciated.

We have six committees, open to all parents and guardians. Time commitments are manageable and flexible!
